南宁职业技术学院前身为创建于1984年的南宁职业大学，是由南宁市人民政府举办，自治区、南宁市共建的一所全日制综合性高等职业院校。2009年12月，学校通过国家教育部、财政部示范建设验收，成为全国首批28所、广西首家国家示范性高职院校。
学校占地面积130多公顷，校舍建筑面积50余万平方米，全日制高职在校生17000多人，成人继续教育学生3200多人。
学校紧跟广西，尤其是广西北部湾经济区的产业布局和结构调整来构建专业体系，开设有10个二级学院，60多个高职专业，其中国家级精品专业1个，室内设计技术、机电一体化技术、物流管理、酒店管理、应用泰语、软件技术等6个专业是国家示范性重点专业。
学校有国家级教学成果奖3项，国家级精品课程9门，是目前广西唯一拥有国家精品专业、唯一连续六年获得国家级精品课程的高等院校。目前建成国家精品资源共享课程7门，占广西高职在建精品资源共享课程的近三分之一。
学校拥有一支由国家优秀教学团队为领军人物的专兼职“双师”素质教学团队。有享受国务院政府特殊津贴人员1人，国家教学名师1人，国家“”教学名师1人，国家优秀教学团队1个；自治区教学名师3人，自治区优秀教学团队7个；南宁市特聘专家2人，南宁市新世纪科技与学术带头人24人。在编在岗教职员工700多人，其中专任教师500多人。
通过政府支持、社会融资、企业投入的多渠道形式，建立了以西班牙政府贷款项目建设的工业实训中心为骨干的六大校内生产性实训基地，设备总值达人民币1.95亿元，为学生的职业技能素质培养构筑了良好基础。
学校坚持开放办学，与东盟国家10多所高校签订了校际合作协议，与区内外20多所高职院校结成了对口支援关系，与230多家行业骨干、龙头企业建立了合作关系。
近年来毕业生就业率均在90%以上。建校至今，已为社会培养输送了10多万高技能应用型人才，为区域经济建设和社会发展提供了有力的人才支持。
多年来，学校发展得到了国家教育部、自治区、南宁市各级领导、各级政府以及社会各界的大力支持，为学校的快速、健康、持续发展奠定了坚实的基础。2016年11月，中共中央政治局委员、中央统战部部长孙春兰到学校视察，称赞学校有“五个好”：即办学理念好、教学模式好、硬件设施好、学生就业好、办学质量好。
Established as Nanning Vocational College in 1984, Nanning CollegeforVocational Technology (NCVT) is a comprehensive college providing full-time higher vocational education. Sponsored by theNanning Municipal Government, NCVT is co-administrated by thePeople’s Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region andNanning Municipal Government. In December 2009, NCVT was recognized, for the first timeamongGuangxi’s vocational colleges bytheMinistry of EducationandMinistry of Finance ofthePeople’s Republic of China as a“National Demonstrative Vocational College.”NCVT had been in the first list whichhaswitnessed 27othervocational colleges being approved asnationaldemonstrativecolleges.
NCVT has a total area of more than1,300,000squaremeterswhile the college buildings’coverageexceeds500,000 squaremeters. NCVT has more than 17,000 full-time students.In addition, there are 3,200 part-time studentsreceivingcontinuingeducation in this college.
NCVT attaches great importance to the construction anddevelopmentof its majors. The majors, most of them being shaped and adjusted by the industriallayoutsand structural adjustmentsof Guangxi, especially Guangxi Beibu Gulf Economic Zone, are well-received. There are ten academic collegesatNCVT, possessing altogether more thansixtyhigher vocational education majorsincludingoneexcellent national-level major.Among those majors,interiordesign,electromechanicalintegrationtechnology,logisticsmanagement,hotelmanagement,applied Thailanguage andsoftwaretechnology are national demonstrative key majors.
NCVT has three teachingachievementawards. Moreover, it hasnineexcellent national-level courses. NCVT is the only higher education institute in Guangxi whichhaspossessed anational-level excellent major and nation-level excellent courses for six consecutive years.By now, NCVThas designedseven national excellent courses for resources sharing, which amounttoalmostone-third of the sharing excellent courses in Guangxi higher vocational education.
NCVT’s full-time and part-time teaching staff members are led by a excellentnationalteaching group. The teachers, who have both high academic standardsas well as rich practical experience, provide their students witha quality-oriented education. Currently, NCVT hasone expert who enjoys the special subsidy of the State Council, onenational excellent teaching group, one national famous teacher, and one who has been accepted in“National Ten Thousand Scheme”as a famous teacher. Besides, NCVT has one provincial excellent teaching group and four famous teachersrecognized bytheGuangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. NCVT altogetherhasmore than 700staff members,over 500of them being teaching members.
With the support from the government and the financing fromseveralenterprises, NCVT has established sixon-campus training bases with theSpanish government-supportedtraining base as their center. The practical trainingequipment, with their totalvaluereaching 195million RMB, providesthe students with golden opportunities to cultivate their practical skills.
NCVT insists on cooperating with universities as well ascorporationsat home and abroad. NCVT has signed cooperative agreements with more than 10 colleges and institutes in ASEAN and other countries, and is in partnership with more thantwentydomestic higher vocational colleges. Moreover, it cooperates with more than 230 leading enterprises in various industries.
In recent years, NCVT has a more than90% employment rateamongits graduates. Since its establishment, NCVT has cultivated more than one hundred thousand graduates who have become a real force to develop the economy and society.
NCVT has always been supported by the Ministry of Education ofthePeople’s Republic of China,thePeople’s Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region,andtheNanning Municipal Government as well aswiththe societyat large. With the support from all levels of the society, NCVTenjoys a rapid, healthy, and sustainable development. InNovember2016,Sun Chunlan,amember of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committeeandthe head of the United Front Work Department,visited NCVT and highly praised itfor its“Five Excellences” in Management Philosophy, Teaching Model, Hardware Facilities, Students’Employment and Education Quality.
